We are caught up in a technological maelstrom where tireless and uncomplaining robots assemble products and "expert systems" allow high school graduates to perform with the dexterity and decision-making skills of a PhD.
Our population is aging, the oldest, most experienced, and costliest employees are being replaced by younger workers -- and the young are finding that their jobs are being outsourced to nations where impoverished workers are paid little and receive no benefits.
And, we ask ourselves in an atmosphere of fear, uncertainty and doubt, AM I NEXT?
