AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT EXCELA ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS

Am I Next? Excela Technologies consolidating and relocating.

Irving, Texas-based Exela Enterprise Solutions, a software developer and business process outsourcer, has announced a restructuring that will lead to the company's consolidation and relocation.
Approximately 81 employees located in Austin, Texas, will be laid off.

According to a company spokesperson, "As part of the company's ongoing optimization efforts, we are relocating some work out of Austin to our other locations within the United States, namely our outbound communications operations. The company maintains a notable presence, over 120 employees, in the Austin area across its other business units, including healthcare, on-site services among others, and they remain unaffected by this relocation. As a Texas-headquartered company, we value our presence within the Austin community."

The company's future is in jeopardy as the company seeks private equity or a merger or acquisition.

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT DATA DIMENSIONS

Am I Next? Data Dimensions loses major contract.

Janesville, Wisconsin-based Data Dimensions, a business process outsourcer specializing in document and data management, has announced the loss of a government contract. The contract loss will impact 111 employees located in the company's two Janesville offices.

According to Data Dimensions CEO Jon Boumstein, “Data Dimensions just recently received notification from its government client that its current contract with the business organization will not be renewed at this time, resulting in a sudden and substantial unforeseen loss of business.”

It is believed by some that the lost contract was related to a five-year sub-contract commencing on December 31, 2015, and ending August 27, 2020, to provide document processing services to the Department of Veterans Affairs under a prime contract with Systems Made Simple a Lockheed-Martin subsidiary.

The company is owned by Saint Louis, Missouri-based Thompson Street Capital Partners

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT PALM COAST DATA

Am I Nest? Palm Coast Data reorganization.

Palm Coast, Florida-based Palm Coast Data, a full service fulfillment, marketing and support service for publishers, is undertaking a reorganization at the behest of its parent corporation, Dublin, Ireland-based Studio Media Group.

The company has announced that it will be shuttering its primary location, laying off 150 employees, and outsourcing its inbound and outbound mail processing operations to Des Moines, Iowa-based CDS Global.

The company is seeking smaller quarters nearby. Prior to the company's sale, the company appeared to be in serious financial difficulty.

Like other fulfilment operations, automation and changing consumer behavior played a major role as more consumers transacted business on the internet and transitioned from manual checks to electronic payments. Even customer service was automated with interactive voice response systems that could provide self-service customer support functions. And, of course, email replaced much of the existing snail-mail that was the lifeblood of the fulfillment center.
