AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT HAWKFISH

Am I Next? Bloomberg’s political consulting and IT firm shutting down.

New York, New York-based Hawkfish, political technology and data analysis company founded by billionaire and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in anticipation of Bloomber's presidential run, has announced that it will be discontinuing operations, closing its offices, and laing off all 108 employees on May 9, 2021.

According to a company spokesperson, "After the election, Hawkfish’s leadership team started exploring potential avenues for the company’s future and concluded that Hawkfish would not continue in its current constitution. The decision to wind down Hawkfish’s operations was not made lightly or without considering other courses of action. The company expects wind down by May, providing staff with a three-month runway to remain at-will employees of Hawkfish and continue to be eligible for pay and benefits while they secure their next position. We are going to wind down Hawkfish this spring.

LAYOFFS: NO LOVE AT S4, INC.

Am I Next? Layoffs at S4 — Contract Loss?

Bedford, Massachusetts-based S4, Inc., a government vendor supplying information, cybersecurity, and professional services to the U.S. Government, notably the DoD (Department of Defense) and DHS (Department of Homeland Security) has announced that it plans to layoff 77 employees, including help desk employees, network monitors, operations management workers and network technicians in its Colorado Springs, Colorado facility in late January, 2020.

The decision was driven by the loss of its N2ITSM (NORAD and USNORTHCOM Information Technology Service Management) contact to provide data management services at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It appears that the 5-year contact that had a ceiling of $99 million lost its funding.

Some employees are expected to apply for jobs at Reston, Virginia-based Leidos, formerly known as SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation) a large defense contractor who has been awarded the services contract and also maintains offices in Colorado Springs.
