AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT BULLHORN

Boston, Massachusetts-based Bullhorn, a software provider for the recruitment and staffing industry, has announced a 9% reduction in force.

The reduction will impact 140 employees.

According to Art Papas, Bullhorn Founder and CEO...

Team,

As we shared this morning, Bullhorn has made the incredibly difficult decision to reduce our workforce, impacting approximately 9% of our employees.

As I mentioned at Town Hall, we did everything we could to avoid cutting staff, but the staffing industry, like so many other industries, has experienced a downturn in comparison to the explosive growth observed coming out of the pandemic. We were staffed in anticipation of higher growth and I take responsibility for that. We felt this action was necessary to align our workforce with the economic environment the industry is facing.

This was a painful decision because we’ve had to part ways with some very talented alumni, all of whom have played a significant role in our continued growth and success. These employees aren’t just coworkers, they’re our friends. We’ve provided generous transition packages and we’ll do everything we can to support them in their transition over the coming weeks.

We’ve made a commitment to our customers to provide a very high level of service, security, and innovation each year, and we fully intend to stay true to these commitments. We will move forward together by focusing on customer experience and delivering innovation, as we always have.

I know this has been a difficult day for everyone. We will get through this time together. In the meantime, please lean on your functional leader and your HR business partner for support. We are here for you. And, I’m confident that the industry will eventually experience a snapback. When it does, we will see a return to robust growth – just as we’ve seen after each of the three prior market downturns we’ve navigated throughout our 24-year history.

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT UKG (07/07/24)

JULY 7, 2024 — 2,200 EMPLOYEES TARGETED

The company has announced that it will cut more than 2,200 jobs or 14 percent of its global workforce, mainly in the United States.

According to Chief Executive Chris Todd, “We are announcing a number of organizational changes that will allow us to aggressively focus on critical areas of growth and to provide flexibility to actively invest in important new areas. These changes mean we have made the difficult decision to say goodbye to ~14% of our colleagues. A top priority through this change is treating those leaving with care, dignity, and respect, and providing support to make their transitions as smooth as possible.”

“I know notifying you of this news the day before a holiday in the U.S. is very difficult timing. We originally planned to share these changes next week, however, due to news and speculation related to this action circulating internally, we chose to accelerate the timing to today to provide you clarity and reduce employees going through the weekend in a state of uncertainty.”

“We determined that we need to redirect our investments to better support our strategic goals, and we need to create a more agile and responsive organization. I am sorry you are impacted by these decisions. The fact that these changes will impact your lives weighs very heavily on me.”

“While decisions that impact our team are not ones we come to lightly, these changes will allow us to redirect resources and invest in key areas of product innovation while enhancing how we support our customers. We are committed to supporting our colleagues through this transition.”

Lowell, Massachusetts-based UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), a software company providing workforce management and human resource management services, has announced a restructuring that will result in a 1.7% reduction in its workforce.

The reduction will impact 265 employees across the company's workforce.

According to a company spokesperson, "A lot has changed in the world of workplace and HR technology since we formed UKG three years ago. To capture the opportunity in front of us, we need to invest in the right areas. We realized that there are some areas where our teams had duplication, were not aligned with our future vision and roadmap, or were places where we can be more efficient. By taking these actions, we are positioning UKG to continue to be successful into the future."
