Lebanon, Indiana-based Kauffman Engineering, a contract manufacturing facility specializing in wire harness and cable assemblies and automated circuit board production, has announced that it will be closing two facilities located in Lebanon, Indiana.

The closure will impact 62 full-time employees. It is expected that all 47 employees will be permanently laid off on January 21, 2022, with another 11 employees being separated on March 18, 2022.

The company has multiple manufacturing facilities throughout the US and Mexico.

According to a statement filed with the State of Indiana, "Due to the ongoing economic impact of the supply chain and labor disruption brought about by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Kauffman is implementing measures to ensure its financial stability. The current pandemic situation has impacted Kauffman’s business significantly."

JUNE 14, 2021 — HARRISON, OHIO FACILITY CLOSURE

ILSCO is closing its Glenmoor Facility in Harrison, Ohio, which will impact all of the employees working there. All of the layoffs are expected to be permanent. Layoffs are to occur from 09/03/2021 to 04/01/2022. and will impact at least 25 employees.

New Berlin, Wisconsin, ECM Industries, a manufacturer and distributor of electrical products for construction, maintenance, lighting, irrigation, landscaping, gas utilities, has announced that its recent 2020 acquisition of Cincinnati, Ohio-based ILSCO Corporation, will see the permanent closure of ILSCO's manufacturing plant located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The closure will affect 121 employees scheduled to be laid off commencing on May 21, 2021, with the last employees being laid off on August 1, 2022.

No reason was provided for the closure although one may suspect the usual business reasons, a pandemic-induced business downturn, operational consolidation with its acquisition parent, and cost-cutting.
