Tel Aviv, Israel-based Wix.com, a provider of cloud-based drag-and-drop web development services. has announced a reduction in force that will impact U.S. employees.
Impacted employees are mostly from the company’s customer care divisions, including 100 employees in Austin, Texas, 27 employees in San Francisco, California, 142 employees in Miami, Florida, and 62 employees in Denver, Colorado. The scheduled departure date is April 16, 2023.
This follows the 100 employees laid off in adding on to the 100 laid off in September 2022.
Wix President Nir Zohar noted, “The global economy has dramatically slowed down. As a result of this Wix and all its rivals have experienced a global slowdown, the significance of which is that we need to staff smaller customer service. We must implement the required change in the way we are managed in order to adapt ourselves.”
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
