AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT PHARMACANN

Chicago, Illinois-based PharmaCann, a vertically integrated cannabis company, has announced the post-merger closure of its Denver, Colorado grow facility on May 20, 2026, six months after the business was acquired by Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Vireo Health.

The closure will impact 132 employees.

According to published statements by the parent corporation, "The decision reflects ongoing market consolidation and 'meaningful synergies' found by the new owner, Vireo Health, which is pursuing an 'asset-light' strategy amid collapsing wholesale flower prices in Colorado. Vireo Health is focusing on expansion despite closing this specific location. Buying inventory on the open market has become more cost-effective than in-house cultivation.

Change is constant, and it's coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
