AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT SCENTSY

Meridian, Idaho-based Scentsy, a manufacturer and distributor of wickless candles and scented fragrance wax for electric candle warmers and scented natural oils and diffusers, has announced that it will be permanently closing its warehouse and shipping facility located in Lexington, Kentucky.

The closure will impact 169 employees and separations are scheduled for April 1, 2022.

According to a company statement, "Scentsy has made, or will soon make, offers to the vast majority of its Lexington-based employees to work at other Scentsy locations. Scentsy sincerely hopes as many of these employees as possible will accept that offer, but also recognizes that a move out of state would be required. Given this, Scentsy cannot say with certainty how many of its Lexington employees will eventually be let go. For the purposes of this letter, Scentsy will assume the worst case that none of those employees will accept an offer."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?

Mayfield, Kentucky-based Mayfield Consumer Products, a manufacturer of candles and home fragrance products, has announced the total destruction of its candle-making facility located in Mayfield, Kentucky by a December 10, 2021, tornado. The tornado resulted in eight employee deaths and multiple injuries.

The closure will impact 501 employees who are deemed to be permanently laid off.

They said they expect all layoffs in Mayfield to be permanent.

According to a company statement, the company is accelerating the opening of its planned Hickory Point facility located in Hickory, Kentucky.
