AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT AGE OF LEARNING

Glendale, California-based Age of Learning, AN Online children's education technology provider, has announced a major layoff at its Glendale headquarters.

The layoff will impact 120 employees in the Los Angeles, California area commencing on February 1, 2023.

It is unknown how much last year's Federal Trade Commission action impacted the company's overall finances given an FTC fine of $10 million and ordered refunds amounting to $9.7 million.

The company is headed by noted Scientologists Doug and Laurie Dohring.

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?

We will do everything in our power to take care of those impacted."

"As an organization, we are refocusing to where we see future opportunities which means evolving the way we do our work. Make no mistake – diamonds are made out of heat and pressure. We believe strongly in the future of Degreed and are taking the steps we must to ensure it continues to shine."
