AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT PLUG POWER

Slingerlands, New York-based Plug Power, a technology company engaged in the development of hydrogen fuel cell systems, and green hydrogen fuel, has announced a major reduction in force as part of its Project Quantum Leap restructuring initiative, which includes cost containment and the optimization of its operational footprint as it seek to generate a first-time profit.

The reduction in force will impact 299 employees, a third of whom are production technicians, at three local New York facilities in Slingerlands, Latham, and Clifton Park. Separations will occur between May and late June 2025.

A spokesperson for Plug declined to comment further.

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
