APRIL 21, 2025 — TENNESSEE FULFILLMENT CENTER CLOSES

The company is closing its fulfillment center in La Vergne, Tennessee.

The closure will impact 446 employees, starting June 4, 2025, and completing all separations on November 30, 2025.

As part of the company’s optimization of its brick-and-mortar footprint, they are closing a Saks Fifth Avenue store in Palm Beach, Florida, in addition to its fulfillment center in Tennessee.

New York City, New York-based Saks Global, a portfolio company of iconic luxury retailers, has announced a 5% reduction in its corporate workforce and the imminent closure of its landmark Neiman Marcus store in Dallas, Texas, due to lease complications.

The personnel realignment will impact 150 employees in the company's finance, legal, operations, human resources, and technology departments as it integrates with the newly acquired Neiman Marcus.

Saks Global CEO Marc Metrick noted, “There will be additional team changes as we continue to integrate our business.”

A spokesperson commented, “We are continuing the integration process following our recent acquisition of Neiman Marcus Group by consolidating functional leadership, clarifying key decision makers, and beginning to simplify our organizational structure."

This reduction in force follows a previous downsizing in July 2024 in anticipation of the acquisition.

Plano, Texas-based Catalyst Brands, formed by the merger of retail giants JCPenney and the SPARC Group, has announced a cost-cutting initiative and a 5% reduction in its workforce to streamline operations and enhance competitiveness following the merger earlier this year.

The reduction will impact 250 corporate employees across all of the venture's brands.

According to a company spokesperson, the decision is “essential for building a stronger, more competitive company.”

The company’s Forever 21 subsidiary has already announced its plans to shut down its Los Angeles headquarters and lay off 358 corporate employees starting April 21, 2025. Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based IV Media, a cable, satellite and broadcast home shopping television network and multi-channel video retailer, has announced a reduction in force.

The personnel realignment will impact 122 employees and is scheduled for February 24. 2025.

A company statement noted, ”As consumer behavior shifts and more customers move away from traditional cable services, we are embracing new opportunities. By focusing on innovative strategies such as produced content, social selling, and video-on-demand, we are ensuring we meet our customers where they are and deliver the experiences they value most.”
