PROTECTING YOUR ASSETS
On April 30, 2018, any imported MP3s you may have stored in Amazon’s Music Cloud will vanish with the wave of a magician’s wand over the digital domain. Originally, Amazon allowed Amazon Music customers to store 250 uploaded MP3 files in their personal cloud library for free. For more information, check your Amazon Music Account.
Another example of those unilateral, Hobson's Choice (take it or leave it) Terms of Service which protect vendors from any responsibility for your content – no matter how safe, secure, and permanent their advertising makes it appear.
WHICH SHOULD BE AN OBJECT LESSON
Right now, I still have quite a few floppy disks containing programs and content, although my laptop does not have a built-in floppy disk drive; I have quite a few CDs and DVDs although my laptop does not have an optical drive.
I have thousands of hours and dollars invested in the content contained on these obsolete devices. Some of it irreplaceable.
Thank heavens that you can still purchase USB-connected floppy and DVD devices. But for how long?
