Cincinnati, Ohio-based Multi-Color Corporation, one of the world's largest printers of custom labels, has announced that it will be permanently closing its Green Bay, Wisconsin printing plant in mid-December, 2019. This appears to be part of the normal restructuring and consolidation process since the company was acquired by Beverly Hills, California-based Platinum Equity on July 1, 2019. The closure should not surprise employees since Platinum Equity also acquired nearby Green Bay, Wisconsin-based WS Packaging Group, also a label and packaging solutions firm in 2018. The number of employees affected by the closure is unknown at this time due to the possibility of employment within other units of Multi-Color.
