New York, New York-based Hearst Magazines, one of the largest publishers of magazines and media across all platforms, has announced a reduction in print frequency of Oprah Winfrey's signature magazine "O" from monthly to quarterly commencing in 2021. Additionally, the company will also lay off 59 employees commencing in February 2021.
According to a company spokesperson, “Supporting our colleagues through the peak of the pandemic by protecting jobs and enhancing benefits has been our priority. As we embark on this new chapter and introduce a new model for this beloved brand, we must also make difficult decisions to position the business for growth, which we are doing with consideration and care.”
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
