The company has laid off 140 workers at its Madison, Wisconsin’s Datex-Ohmeda facility, citing the reduced need for ventilators and anesthesia machines.

Chicago, Illinois-based GE Healthcare. a manufacturer and distributor of diagnostic imaging products, has announced a continuation of its relocation plan for transitioning 250 sales, marketing, and support jobs from the company's offices in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to its Chicago headquarters. The move will impact approximately 123 employees who will be permanently laid of on August 31, 2020.

According to a company spokesperson, “In January, we informed employees that to be closer to our customers and strengthen our business, portions of the U.S. commercial team will transfer to the company’s global headquarters in Chicago and other regional offices. We remain committed to Wisconsin, home to more GE Healthcare employees than any other state."
