Kokomo, Indiana-based Haynes International, a major producer of corrosion-resistant and high-temperature alloys, has implemented a cost-cutting program in response to falling revenues linked to the general business dowturn in the aerospace sector caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Impacted were 91 employees who received involuntary layoffs along with an unspecified number of voluntary layoffs.
According to President and Michael Shor, "We are living through the most unique time that I've experienced in my lifetime Where possible, employees who are able to work from home continue to do so. Where not possible or if an employee feels uncomfortable coming to work, we established a process of voluntary layoffs."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
