Las Vegas, Nevada-based NS8, a software company specializing in real-time fraud protection for online marketing systems, has announced that it has experienced "sudden and unforeseen circumstances" resulting in approximately 244 employee layoffs, including 75 in Las Vegas, commencing on September 11, 2020.
"This reduction in force is necessitated by sudden and unforeseeable business circumstances. As a result of these circumstances, NS8 has been forced to rapidly reevaluate its workforce, operational needs, and lines of business, and to quickly reduce operating costs Due to these c1rcumstnnces, all of which was outside of our control, we made the difficult decision to significantly reduce the business. This will result in the elimination of a significant number of roles, including your own. While we would have preferred to give you more advance notice of this decision, we were not in a position, 60 days ago, to anticipate the sudden change to our business circumstances, nor the decisions necessitated by them. We are therefore not able to provide you with 60 days advance notice of this reduction in force, and are providing you with as much notice as 1s reasonably practical."
"In light of this reduction in force, NS8 hereby waives the restricted covenants in your employment
agreement that concern non-competition and the solicitation of employees, consultants, and other
parties. All other contractual obligations set forth in your employment agreement, including those pertaining to confidentiality and intellectual property, remain in place."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
