Janesville, Wisconsin-based Hufcor. a manufacturer of operable partitions and movable glass walls for commercial applications, has announced the planned closure of its 100,000 square foot Janesville manufacturing facility.
It is believed that the plant's operation will be outsourced to Monterrey, Mexico at the direction of the company's parent, Los Angeles, California-based OpenGate Capital. The closure will impact 166 employees commencing on August 3, 2021.
According to a company spokesperson, "the company, known for making accordion-style door systems and portable room partitions, plans to keep its research and development, testing, and customer service operations in Janesville but that the manufacturing division in the city will be relocated."
