Woking, England-based TT Electronics, a manufacturer of electronic components, including sensors, power modules, resistors, magnetics, semiconductors, connectors and optoelectronics, and provider of contract manufacturing services, has announced that it is closing its Corpus Christi manufacturing facility.
Some of the work will be transfered to the company's newly-expanded 68,000-square-foot facility in Plano, Texas. A smaller portion of the manufacturing operations will be sent abroad to the company's factory in Bedlington, England.
The closure will impact 73 employees commencing on begin on August 16, 2021, and be completed by the end of August 2021.
The decision is being driven by a 2020 operational review which led to plans to reduce the company's global workforce, consolidate operations, and to shutter at least three facilities globally, including one in Christ Church, Barbados, and one in Lutterworth, England.
