Roseville, California-based ESL Technologies. AKA Teleplan International, a logistics company specializing in the after-market service, maintenance and repair of computers and computer peripheral equipment, has announced a major reduction in force.
The reduction in force will impact 520 employees, including 308 direct company employees and 212 temporary workers from various staffing agencies. Layoffs are expected to commence on October 25, 2021.
The decision was driven by the loss of two contracts. According to a company statement, “A dramatic and unanticipated decrease in business due to the loss of two major customers resulted in a layoff of almost all of its employees located at its Roseville warehouse facility."
One large customer is believed to be San Jose, California-based networking hardware company, Cisco Systems, as ESL is listed as an authorized site for service, maintenance and logistics for products from Inc.
Note: Teleplan and Clover Wireless Rebrand as Plano, Texas-based Reconext, a provider of aftermarket lifecycle services for electronic devices, which lists the same Roseville address as ESL Technologies and Teleplan.
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
