Saint Louis, Missouri-based Aclara Smart Grid Solutions, a leading supplier of smart infrastructure solutions to electric, gas, and water utilities, has announced the completion of a stand-alone ConEdison project and the closure of its two project-related locations in Brooklyn, New York, and Bronx, New York.
Approximately 564 employees, mostly meter installers and support personnel, are impacted by the closures scheduled for November 24, 2021.
According to ConEdison, work in the Brox was scheduled to last between January 2019 and December 2021. Work in Brooklyn was scheduled to last between April 2018 to December 2021. ConEdison's push for smart meters will result in fewer meter readers and support personnel as the billing system is automated.
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
