Seattle, Washington-based Wireless Advocates, a reseller of wireless products and services, has ceased operations and abruptly terminated employees.
The shutdown will impact 1,600 employees.
According to a company statement, "As of this morning, wireless advocates has ceased operations effective immediately and is no longer doing business."
Wireless Advocates CEO Dan Brettler noted, "This morning I need to share the unhappy news that Wireless Advocates is permanently closing, effective immediately." Brettler claimed the company was "up against supply chain challenges that started with Covid and never got better. In addition, 5G didn’t spur the demand that they had hoped." Brettler is also CEO of Car Toys, an audio and mobile electronics retailer with stores in Washington, Oregon, Colorado, and Texas.
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
