Wayne, Pennsylvania-based Crothall Healthcare, a third-party provider of environmental and janitorial services to the healthcare industry, has announced that it will be laying off 133 employees at three Adventist Health Hospitals located in Kern County, California.
The layoffs will impact affect 89 employees in Bakersfield, California, 31 in Delano, California, and 13 at Tehachapi Valley, California. An unspecified number of employees will be affected in a fourth Adventist Health location in Tuolumne County, California. Separations are effective on April 17, 2022.
According to a company spokesperson, the decision was driven by Adventist Health's transition to another housekeeping vendor, Sacramento, California-based Advanced Building Maintenance.
An Adventist spokesperson noted, "transferring the housekeeping services to ABM will better serve patients and provide training and certification opportunities for these employees."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
