Wilder, Kentucky-based Castellini Group of Companies, the largest supplier of fresh produce in the United States, has announced plans to restructure the privately-owned company from a produce company into a supply chain support services firm.
The restructuring effort will impact 150 employees, including truck drivers and warehouse workers located at its Wilder, Kentucky warehouse commencing on March 19, 2022.
Castellini's former CEO, Brian Kocher, noted "Market conditions changed significantly over the past decade and produce buyers across the industry increasingly source their product directly from the grower/shipper. That increased demand for supply chain services and became an opportunity for the Castellini Group of Companies to transform along with the industry."
According to Kocher's replacement as CEO, Chris Larsen, "Change is always difficult. But, we can only provide the support our customers require by reconfiguring the workforce, our support infrastructure, and our investment priorities."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
