JANUARY 19, 2024 — 211 IN MEMPHIS TENNESSEE

The company is laying off 211 employees at its Memphis, Tennessee distribution facility with layoffs commencing on March 6, 2024, and separations completed by April 27, 2024.

According to a company spokesperson, “We’re ending operations with one of our customers in the Memphis area.” It is believed that the customer is the Disney Distribution Center.

NOVEMBER 24, 2023 — 192 EMPLOYEES IN GROVEPORT, OHIO

The company has announced that it is ceasing operations and will close its facility in Groveport, Ohio, and lay off 192 employees on January 15, 2024. It is believed that the decision is based on a contractual issue.

AUGUST 26, 2023 — 176 LAYOFFS

GXO Logistics will shut down its facility in Aberdeen, Maryland, impacting 176 employees commencing on September 30, 2023.

According to a company spokesperson, "We’re ceasing operations at one of our sites in Aberdeen. For impacted employees, they will have the opportunity to transfer to other nearby GXO sites that serve other customers.”

DECEMBER 19, 2022 — 146 LAYOFFS IN KENOSHA, WISCONSIN

The company is permanently closing its Kenosha, Wisconsin, general warehouse and storage facility and laying off 146 employees at the location by February 13, 2023.

OCTOBER 22, 2022 — 262 TEXAS LAYOFFS AT TWO PEPSI FACILITIES

The company is laying off 262 warehouse employees, including 56 workers in Dallas, Texas, and 206 workers in Lancaster, Texas. Separations are scheduled for December 10, 2022.

According to a company statement, “GXO will be ceasing operations where GXO provides services for Pepsi, no later than Dec. 10. All GXO operations will cease, and all GXO employees at the facility will be impacted,”

Greenwich, Connecticut-based GXO Logistics, a contract logistics company that manages outsourced supply chains and warehousing, has announced that it will be closing its Sturtevant, Wisconsin, facility.

The closure will affect the entire facility workforce of 144 employees, with layoffs expected to commence on September 10, 2022.

According to a company spokesperson, "The company's contracting customer made a strategic business decision to relocate their warehousing operations to Northern Kentucky later this year to be in close proximity to its manufacturing facility."
