AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT AVAYA (07/27/24)

JULY 27, 2024 — 180 EMPLOYEES TARGETED

As part of a larger restructuring initiative, the company has reduced its workforce by approximately 3%, or 180 employees.

A company spokesperson noted, “Avaya has implemented organizational changes within our Go-to-customer function as part of our strategic plan for innovation and growth, and to continue to firmly position the company as the global leader in Enterprise CX for years to come.”

“These changes enable us to best support our key customers and partners, which means everyone is positioned to achieve their goals. We have clear roles, reduced complexity, and a path to driving new sales within and outside our customer base. Ultimately, this sets our team and the entire company up for growth, and for driving greater success for our customers and our partners.”

Durham, North Carolina-based Avaya Holdings, a technology company specializing in cloud communications, workstream collaboration, and contact center operations, has announced a “transformation” resulting in a reduction in force.

According to a company spokesperson, "The reduction in force better aligns the size of Avaya’s workforce with its operational strategy and cost structure. Avaya does not take decisions that impact people lightly.”

The realignment was “necessary to position Avaya as a more agile and innovative organization and to align Avaya’s cost structure with our contractual, recurring revenue business model. We will minimize the impact to customers with respect to sales and support and remain committed to our long-range innovation and product development roadmaps. We are committed to treating impacted employees with utmost dignity and respect and seamlessly providing our customers with outstanding communications solutions and support.”

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
