New York, New York-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the iconic cancer treatment and research institution, has announced a cost-containment initiative.
The company has announced the reduction in force will impact
337 employees, spread across 14 sites in New York City, to reduce costs amid widespread hospital financial challenges.
According to a hospital spokesperson, "These roles span multiple departments and levels. This reduction was necessary to ensure that MSK can continue to invest in the future of cancer care, research, and education for the benefit of generations to come and every effort has been made to ensure that patient care is not impacted."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
