Nashville, Tennessee-based Envision Healthcare, a multi-specialty medical staffing firm whose parent company is reportedly planning to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, is announcing a reduction in force.
The reduction in force will impact 162 administrative workers, mostly clinical support jobs such as claim processes and verifiers, coders, reimbursement specialists, clerks, and accounts receivable handlers in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Separations will begin on July 14, 2023, with an additional 125 positions eliminated on September 15, 2023.
According to the Wall Street Journal, "the potential filing is a result of losses tied to increasing labor costs, a contract dispute with UnitedHealthcare and 'surprise billing' legislation that blocks providers from going after patients to collect on bills insurers refuse to cover."
An Envision spokesperson said the company “appreciates the teammates for their many contributions supporting Envision clinicians in providing high-quality patient care and remains focused on continuing to provide such care to the patients we serve."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
