New Orleans, Louisiana-based Ochsner Health System, a non-profit, academic, multi-specialty healthcare delivery system operating 42 hospitals and over 200 urgent health centers located throughout Southeast Louisiana, has announced a major reduction in force.
Approximately 2% of the workforce will be impacted, approximately 770 employees.
According to a company spokesperson, "The cuts will primarily be limited to employees in management, administrative jobs, and clerical positions which will be spread evenly across the institution’s facilities.
"This is not a decision our executive leadership team takes lightly or one we ever wanted to make. It is the hardest change we have ever had to make at Ochsner, but one we must to ensure we continue to be a strong organization."
“We want everyone to know that when we are finished with this round, we are done. This is it, Folks do not have to come to work every day worried about what comes next.”
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
