Santa Monica, California-based ZipRecruiter, an operator of a platform to match employers with job seekers, has announced its intention to reduce its global headcount.
The reduction in force will impact 270 employees or approximately 20% of its workforce, with approximately 50% of the impacted employees coming from the sales and customer support teams.
According to an SEC filing, "This action was taken in response to current market conditions and after reducing other discretionary expenses, with a view toward driving long-term efficiency. By streamlining its organization and optimizing its cost structure, the Company believes it can execute faster with an increased focus on its top priorities and long-term strategic growth objectives, including continued development of its technology roadmap."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
