The company has announced that its Marginal Way wine bottle facility located in Seattle, Washington, is subject to an “indefinite curtailment of production and added that if the market conditions change, Ardagh will consider restarting production at its Seattle facility.”

The closure will impact 244 employees who will be laid off.

According to a company spokesperson, the decision was driven by “ongoing pressure from low-priced imports from China, Chile and Mexico, and market conditions.”

Fishers, Indiana-based Ardagh Group USA, one of the world’s largest metal and glass packaging companies, has announced the closure of two bottling plants in response to a precipitous drop in sales of one of its client's products, said to be Bud Light Beer produced by Anheuser-Busch/InBev.

One plant is located in Simsboro, Louisiana, and the other one is in Wilson, North Carolina.

Approximately 645 employees will be impacted.

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
