San Francisco, California-based Udemy, an open online educational course provider, has announced that it will
continue its previously announced restructuring to reduce costs, including relocating positions to lower-cost regions.
The reduction will impact 280 employees and be completed by March 31, 2025.
According to President and CEO Greg Brown, "In order to most effectively capture the future market opportunity, we are taking deliberate action to shift our strategic focus and resources upmarket where we see the most significant growth potential and will deliver accelerated profitability as a result.β
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall; why do most assume itβs targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
