Sunnyvale, California-based Proofpoint, an enterprise cybersecurity company providing SAAS (software as a service) and products for email security, identity threat defense, data loss prevention, electronic discovery, and email archiving, has announced a six percent reduction in its workforce.
The reduction in force will impact 280 employees.
According to a company statement, "We have made the difficult decision to reduce our current workforce by about 280 positions globally. This decision was not taken lightly, and it is deeply rooted in our forward-looking company strategy of aligning our investments and hiring to our strategic priorities, expanding our operational footprint by leveraging a global talent pool, and streamlining our organization with fewer management layers."
