Long Beach, California-based California Resources Corporation, an energy company engaged in hydrocarbon exploration in California, has announced a post-merger reduction in force as part of a reorganization to streamline operations at its recently acquired Aera Energy property.
The reduction in force will impact 118 employees located at Aera Energy's Bakersfield operations.
Francisco Leon, the president and CEO of California Resources Corporation noted,
“I would expect that a majority of Aera employees to remain with the company, there will be layoffs, there will be layoffs on both sides. Any merger that comes in Wall Street comes typically with changes with reduction in staff. We have a great opportunity, Aera and CRC are two tremendous companies. We want to try to keep that foundation, that heartbeat of the company intact we have a lot of work to do and a lot of energy to produce."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall; why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
