MARCH 29, 2025 — 900 EMPLOYEES AT QVC AND HSN
As part of its plan to consolidate and become a bigger player on social media and streaming platforms, the company is laying off about 900 employees or about 5% of its workforce.
According to a company statement, "We made the very difficult decision to eliminate a number of roles. In the U.S., this impacts approximately 900 team members across HSN, QVC US and our Global Shared Services. For many of these individuals, today will be their last day with QVC Group."

Parent company Qurate Retail Group has announced 400 employees have been laid off at television-shopping companies QVC Inc. and Home Shopping Network as part of a multi-year growth strategy known as “Project Athens” that included cost reductions.
According to a Quarte spokesperson, “These decisions are not easy but are necessary for realigning how we manage the business and heighten focus on critical priorities.”

West Chester, Pennsylvania-based Qurate Retail Group, the parent of QVC, the iconic home shopping channel offering general merchandise, has announced the closure of its Rocky Mount distribution center located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and a mass layoff of all personnel.
The layoff will impact 1,953 employees and is scheduled to commence on February 1, 2022, with all separations accomplished by mid-2022
The decision was driven by massive fire and water damage to the majority of the 1.2 million-square-foot structure in December 2021. One employee perished in the fire. No decision has been made regarding the site.
