Green Bay, Wisconsin-based Schneider National, a full services freight and logistics company offering warehousing, distribution, and supply chain management services, has announced that they will be laying off 107 employees associated with their home delivery services operation and located at their Fontana, California distribution center. The layoffs are expected to be completed by the end of September 2019.
After three years, their “First to Last Mile” operation has not met expectations and is being terminated.
Mark Rourke,Schneider’s CEO, told investment analysts that “While we made significant investments in the operation, the business operating results are below target, not meeting our expectation on financial performance, or improving at an acceptable pace or timeline. The company’s other logistics operation are said to be unaffected.
