Canton, Massachusetts-based Dunkin' Brands, the iconic multinational coffee and doughnut company, has announced that it is in discussions to be acquired by Atlanta, Georgia-based Inspire Brands.
Dunkin' would join Inspire Brand's brand portfolio that includes Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic, Jimmy John’s, and Sonic Drive-ins.
According to Dunkin' Brands Chief Communications Officer Karen Raskopf, the deal is not done yet and there is "no certainty that any agreement will be reached."
Dunkin' had previously announced the closure of up to 800 domestic stores and should the acquisition proceed, there will be the inevitable reduction in force as duplicate functions are streamlined and consolidated.
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
