Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Cardone Industries, an auto aftermarket parts manufacturer, refurbisher, and distributor is responding to revenue losses from travel restrictions and car usage by consolidating operations. Approximately 183 employees will be laid off at the company's Brownsville, Texas facility. The refurbished brake operations from the company's Matamoros, Mexico facility will be transfered to Philadelpha, Pennsylvania.
The company also executed a reduction in force impacting 680 corporate and manufacturing employees in its Philadelphia operations, with 20% of the employees being laid off and the remaining 80% furloughed. The company is controlled by Toronto, Canada-based Brookfield Asset Management.
