Columbus, Ohio-based Designer Brands, a shoe retailer of designer and name brand shoes and fashion accessories through its DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) stores and e-commerce website, has announced that it would be laying off 92 employees from its customer service facility located in Columbus, Ohio commencing March 27, 2021. The work will be outsourced to a third-party call center.
According to a company spokesperson, "Covid-19 continues to have an immense adverse impact on the retail industry, affecting consumer demand, shopping behaviors, and other key business aspects. These changes have forced us to make difficult decisions. As such we are transitioning most of our customer service roles to a third-party contact center to maintain Designer Brands’ long-term fiscal health."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
