San Francisco, California-based Sonder Holdings, a manager of personal and corporate short-term rentals, has announced a reorganization plan to become cash-positive which will result in a 14% reduction in its workforce.
The personnel realignment will impact approximately 100 employees and be completed by the end of the first quarter.
According to chief accounting officer Chris Berry, “Our strategy hasn't changed in this respect. Our goal is to optimize, and we are continually trying to strike the right balance between demand and rate. Occupancy rate is an output of this optimization effort rather than a goal in and of itself.”
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
