Covina, California-based Emanate Health, a healthcare provider operating three local hospitals and 16 primary and specialty care locations, has announced a restructuring to contain costs.
A reduction in force will impact 107 systemwide employees, including 63 per diem, part-time, and full-time positions, and 44 employees associated with the closure of Emanate Health Home Care and Emanate Health Imaging, effective December 9, 2024. Included are senior positions: vice president of supply chain, assistant director of marketing and growth, managers, and corporate director of safety and security.
The decision appears to be driven by prevailing conditions in the healthcare market.
According to a company statement, "These were difficult decisions that were made upon thorough assessment and careful consideration. All changes have been carefully planned and will not impact the organization's ability to provide high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services to the community."
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
